How to request a refund on Steam, iOS and Android

Our games are sold through Steam, the App Store and Google Play, so refunds are handled by the store where you bought the game, under its own rules. We don't see your payment details and, on Steam and the App Store, we can't issue a refund ourselves. Below you'll find how to request one on each platform.

Unsolved Case is free to play, so there is nothing to refund. The steps below apply to Unboxing the Cryptic Killer and Parallel Experiment.

Steam

Steam will refund a game for any reason if you request it within 14 days of purchase and you have played it for less than 2 hours.

  1. Go to help.steampowered.com and sign in with the Steam account that bought the game.
  2. Select Purchases, then pick the game.
  3. Choose I would like a refund, then I'd like to request a refund.
  4. Select a reason, add a short note if you like, and submit the request.

You'll get an email confirming the request, and another one once Steam has made a decision. If you bought the game as a gift, the request has to come from the person who paid for it. The full rules are in the Steam Refunds policy.

iOS (App Store)

Apple handles refunds for everything bought on the App Store.

  1. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account.
  2. Select I'd like to, then Request a refund.
  3. Choose the reason and select Next.
  4. Select the game and submit.

Apple usually replies within 24 to 48 hours, and you can check the status of the request on the same site. If you don't see the purchase, it may have been made with a different Apple Account: search your email for the Apple receipt. Read more in Apple's guide Request a refund for apps or content that you bought from Apple.

Android (Google Play)

If it has been less than 48 hours since you bought the game, you can request a refund from Google:

  1. Go to play.google.com and sign in with the Google account that bought the game.
  2. Open your profile, then Payments & subscriptions and Budget & order history.
  3. Find the game and select Report a problem.
  4. Choose the option that describes your situation and say that you'd like a refund.

Google usually decides within a day, but it can take up to four days. Each app can be refunded only once. More details are in Google's Request a refund on Google Play help page.

If more than 48 hours have passed, contact us and include the order number from your Google Play receipt (it starts with GPA.). We'll look into it.
