Parallel Lab is here!

Parallel Lab is here!

Blog•28 April, 2022

On April 28th, we released Parallel Lab 🎉 It's our second game in the Cryptic Killer series. We're very proud of how it turned out and can't wait to hear your thoughts about it!

Our first game Unboxing the mind of a Cryptic Killer marks our humble beginnings. The scope of our first game was small (almost minimal), but it allowed us to distill the most important aspects of the experience we wanted to provide into a simple but compelling product.

Working on Parallel Lab, we had more time and experience to polish the experience and implement the ideas that we had to cut for the first game. Among these are professional voiceovers done by real actors or animated comic-book strips of stories between levels. We also expanded the scope of the levels, and now you can explore real rooms and tinker with various devices. Neat! :)

Split-puzzle cooperative experience

Both our games have the detectives (and players) separated. That means that you'll see different items and clues, and the games will test not only your puzzle-solving skills but also how well you communicate!

It's a battle-proven formula of ours that made Unboxing the mind of a Cryptic Killer a success. If something works, don't fix it!

Played in the browser

Parallel Lab is played in a browser but controls like a classic point-and-click adventure. No outside knowledge is required. You won’t have to open additional browser tabs, no Google search, and don’t need to have social accounts. Just pure, self-contained fun!

We are working on releasing the game on other platforms, but that's a secret. You haven't heard from me! 🤫 More on that soon.

How do I play Parallel Lab?

To play the game, head over to https://lab.elevenpuzzles.com. The game is played in the browser and requires at least 2 players on separate devices. If your team is in different locations, hop onto a Zoom call, and have fun!

What's next?

We're already working full-steam ahead on our next game. It's called Unsolved Case, and it'll be a short prequel to the series. More on that soon!
